The Dietary Service Manager will be responsible for overseeing the dietary department, ensuring that all meals are prepared according to health regulations, and providing nutritional counseling and education to residents.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement dietary programs and meal plans for residents in a skilled nursing facility.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations to assess the nutritional needs of residents.
- Provide health coaching and education to residents on proper nutrition and healthy eating habits.
- Manage and supervise a team of dietary staff members.
- Create individualized care plans for residents with specific dietary needs or restrictions.
- Monitor food service operations to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care for residents.
- Oversee budgeting and purchasing of food and supplies.
- Provide guidance and training to staff on proper food handling and preparation techniques.
- Ensure proper documentation of dietary services provided.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a leadership role in a dietary department, preferably in an skilled nursing or long-term care setting.
- Strong knowledge of nutrition principles, physiology, and dietary guidelines.
- Familiarity with tube feeding and specialized diets.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with residents, families, and staff members.
- Proficient in budgeting and financial management.
